It is almost June, which means Summer is upon us.
Time to think of Summer goals and what you would like to achieve by the time Fall rolls around.
Here are some tips to help you make and keep your Summer goals.
Telling yourself, “This Summer, I’m going to….” Is not enough.
First, set your intention and really think about your goal for June, July, and August and write it down. Place it somewhere where you can see it on a daily basis. Read the intention you have written down out loud on a daily basis. Speak it into existence.
Second, set a SMART goal (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely). Don’t think about Summer as a chunk of 90 day. Instead, try to visualize your Summer as 3 separate chapters (June, July, and August). Then break each one of those chapters down into sub-chapters (Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4).
Now set micro-goals for each.
Where do you want to be at the end of June? What goals do you need to achieve in order to get there? How can you break those goals down into weekly milestones?
The more you can help yourself see the next step in front of you, the more likely you are to remain consistent and connected to the process.
Third, create a reading list/ podcast list that reinforces and inspires you in the same direction as your Summer goals. One of the best ways to keep yourself engaged is to constantly feed yourself that same type of external material.
For example, when I was in the process of losing my weight, I listened to several podcasts that helped me rewire my brain and I read numerous books about the science behind weight loss.

And the Life Coach School Podcast.
Finally, choose how to spend your Summertime wisely. Be deliberate in making time to work toward your goals. Empower yourself to say “No” to events or activities that keep you from making progress on your goals. Remember, by the end of Summer you want your goal completed and achieved. Choose wisely.
