Maria C - Released 40 pounds and counting!

After having Covid and ending up in the hospital for 5 days, I felt that I had to look at my overall health and ask myself tough questions. While I have been relatively healthy and do not have pre-existing conditions nor illnesses that I thought put me at risk, I realized at my final check-up that being overweight was a factor in why I may have ended up in the hospital. I was one of the 78% overweight/obese people hospitalized for Covid. This was eye-opening and quite frankly I didn't like it. I knew I had to make changes and take control of my health.

I reached out to Mary after seeing her transformation with releasing 80 pounds. After hearing of her success, I knew I needed a coach, someone I have known since the 2nd grade and trust that could help guide me on my own journey. After a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, macro counting, dietary restrictions and a host of other not-so-safe methods, I quit trying when menopause hit because nothing I did worked.

Mary's knowledge and experience makes her the ultimate coach. She took me through a series of questions to help me arrive at my reason for wanting to make this change. That reason is the anchor that keeps me going every day, and has allowed me to change my mindset in how I approach weight loss. It's actually less about losing weigh, and more about creating a new lifestyle conducive to improving my overall health with weight loss being the preverbal cherry on top.

I am nearly 6 months into this journey with 40 pounds released. My BMI, which started at above 35 (class 2 obese), is now at 28 (overweight). I feel better, more energized and more clear headed than I have in a very long time. My non-scale victories include amazing improvements in my skin, skin tags disappearing, pain in my knee is gone and about half a dozen jeans that now fit, with some of them being a little too loose to wear for much longer.

My goal is to lose at least 30 more, or when my BMI gets to about 22, safely in the "normal" category. Coach Mary has helped me in ways I just didn't know I needed, providing resources, support and knowledge that has guided me in turning this journey into a lifestyle that I want to enjoy for the rest of my life.
